How to Open/Close Client using SE06 and SCC4

Open a client means you are opening your Production/Quality/Development/Simulation/Training client for any critical cross client related changes like in data dictionary objects etc. This would be done in tcode SCC4, you needs to select option depends on your customers requirement.

Client Open:
TCode: SCC4

Check:

Changes and Transport for Client Specific Objects: Automatic record Changes

Cross Client Object Changes: Changes to repository and Cross-client Customizing allowed.

In SE06:

Make Global Settings: Modifiable

Software Components: Modifiable

Namespace/Name Range: Modifiable

While Closing the client revert back the changes as shown in the below screenshot.

If Transport (In STMS) get stucked

We can see sometimes that everything seems to be fine in system, but then also transport (In stms_import) gets stucked.
A "truck sign" will be present next to the transport for infinite time-period.
So in that case we must rename the alog file present in tmp directory.
After renaming, re-transport it.

Creating Distribution List & Email Functionality

Sometimes we need to add multiple users for particular activity ( Say Spool Recipient in Background Job).
So for these kind of act, we need to create distribution list.
Here is detailed procedure which will let you know how to create distribution list in SAP.

Enter TCode: SBWP (SAP Business Workplace)

Click "Distribution List"

Click on "Create" button.

Enter "Name" and "Title"

Click on "Create Folder"

Enter "Folder Name"

And Check below mentioned options.

Click check button.

Now select folder from here and click check.

Now go to "Dist. List Content" tab.

Select "Internet address" in Recip. List and check names of recipient as "cc"

After saving

At the end users list will appear.

Now this name can be used as "Distribution List".

The distribution list is created and can be used on the send screen, for example, or in other places in the SAP system where a specific user group has to be specified.

Approving download basket items in SAP Marketplace with Solution Manager Maintenance Optimizer

Sometimes we may get an issue that we need to approve patches present in download basket of SAP Marketplace before downloading it.

It can be done in two ways:

1. With the help of Solution Manager Maintenance Optimizer

2. Without Solution Manager Maintenance Optimizer

With the help of  Solution Manager Maintenance Optimizer

In that case login to Solution Manager and type the Tcode: solution_manager.

Now select the appropriate system and go to "Change Management" tab.
In Change Management go to "Support Packages and Stacks".

No click "Maintenance Optimizer" button.

Click on desired system.

Select appropriate "Product Version" and "Product System" and then continue.

Click on "Select Files Manually"

In this case we need not to select any option shown below. So we can press "continue".

Select confirm files in download basket.

We will be shown a list of patches which needs to be approved. We must click on the desired patches and click "OK".

After approving patches, it will be shown in "SAP Download Manager".

Without the help of Solution Manager Maintenance Optimizer
